Our Methodology

How Every Engagement Works

Each Caribou & Quill engagement follows the same structure, regardless of which service you've selected. It begins with a guided intake — a short questionnaire that collects the essential information before your consultation. This means your first call with us covers meaningful ground immediately, rather than being spent on administrative details.

A consultation follows, either by phone or in person at our Halifax office. For estate work, we discuss wishes, beneficiaries, and executors. For business formation, we evaluate structure options together. For lease matters, we review your situation and what the agreement needs to accomplish.

Once the scope is confirmed, drafting begins. An internal review precedes any client walkthrough — you never see a document that hasn't already been checked against provincial requirements. The final session before delivery gives you the opportunity to ask questions, request adjustments, and confirm your satisfaction. Then your documents are delivered, in both digital and printed form, and the file is closed.

Professional Standards

Shared Across All Services

Client Confidentiality

All client information is held in strict confidence and shared with no one outside the engagement.

Provincial Compliance

Every document is checked against current Nova Scotia legislation before delivery. We monitor regulatory updates regularly.

Revisions Included

Defined revision rounds are built into each service's fixed fee. We don't bill hourly for changes within the agreed scope.

Walkthrough Before Sign-Off

No document is delivered without a review session. You understand what you're signing before you sign it.

Clear Timelines

Each engagement has an expected completion window communicated at the outset. Business formation is typically 3–4 weeks; estate and lease services move according to client readiness.

Digital and Printed Copies

All finalized documents are provided in both secure digital format and printed form — accessible when you need them, stored safely when you don't.
